Secrets Of The Soul

The desert sand clasped in my hand,

Its golden threads delicately slip through my grasp;

Like the memories

That gently drain out of my soul,

Never knowing where it'll flow..

Like footprints by the beach,

Washed away by the transcendental waves,

Not a step left to retrace

And no sunsets left to chase...

Like snow that buries the ground

Concealing all of it secrets,

Only to melt away

To unmask the veracity of life..

Like the way my pen touches the paper,

Only to have a string of words pulled out of my heart,

Looking for a path

As it dodges my tear drop;

Only to escape once again

In the deep trench of lost words, broken hearts and shattered promises
