Is it truly my fault

"You are a reminder of pain,

A source of regret,

A reflection of my past mistakes,

My greatest error,"

These are the words my mother spoke,

Without a hint of remorse or care for my feelings,

Ignoring my thoughts and emotions.

Every night, I cry myself to sleep,

Hoping she will stop saying those hurtful words,

But they continue to flow from her lips.

My mother calls me the devil,

Blaming me for all her misfortunes,

Including her inability to find love.

I struggle with questions that have no answers,

"What did I do wrong?"

"Is it truly my fault?"

It feels like I'm being punished for a crime I didn't commit,

Trapped in a situation I have no control over.

Sometimes I wonder if only those foolish teenagers had shown restraint,

I wouldn't have been born into this hellish home.
