Just Friends?
Just Friends?
The world has always questioned,
“Can they be just friends?”
When the night seemed dark
Without a single star of hope,
He stayed by her side-
She didn’t have to fight the battle alone.
When his heart was broken in pieces
By the one whom he loved masses,
She took her time to heal it-
To fix the cuts and bruises.
And the world still asked,
“Can they be just friends?
They had so much in common yet
They feared their paths would split
They learnt each other’s joys
And lived each other’s pains;
They were the best cheerleaders,
And their toughest critic.
They weren’t lovers
They weren’t mere friends
They weren’t ones with interests
But they were indeed best friends
Many thought it to be love,
They were rumored to be dating,
But who cared?
When they both knew-
What exactly they were.
And the world asked,
‘Can they be just friends?’
But what did they about it?
She thought him as a brother,
Who would protect her always
He saw her as a sister,
To guide him always.
She knew he wouldn’t judge her
He believed that she could handle all his madness
And they both agreed they will be the best of friends
When the world asked,
‘Can they be just friends?’
Their smiles at each other declared
Yes, they are the Best Friends.
