Summertime Soliloquy

In the scorching yet soothing warmth of the sun,

My poor little heart is reminded of your thoughts.

I am motivated enough to hold you in an embrace that lasts an eternity

But I am aware that these romantic implications are not possible in this life.

Your fragrance and your voice bring back a thousand shared memories,

In which, once if I am lost then, I lose track of time.

I have learnt how to live a life with your constant presence and absence and the cyclic occurrence of these unions and partings.

My question remains unanswered, have we grown so apart that we don't stand a chance of meeting ever again?

Have you forgotten all those moments, those treasured memories which are inked on my soul?

Is our love no better than a withering rose waiting to die a natural death?

The sun continues to shine but its warmth is no longer soothing but has turned harsh because of your thoughts and the impossibility of their accomplishment practically, igniting restlessness in my waking life.

On closing eyes though, I still dream of meeting you along a horizon in some afterlife or a parallel universe.
