LIKE NEVER BEFORE

A mirror out there,

Reflects back the dare,

That once vowed never to face,

Today standing tall before that gaze,

Still, sheer and fearless,

Fearless of being jeered,

Fearless of the 'nos' I hear,

No more curses, I do bear,

Because today ain't the yesterday, I fear.

Was naive back then,

Weak enough to act sane,

Hearing the echoes all around,

Why didn't you just cry out loud?

Stains suppressed saying "it's okay",

Tears drying out, hiding at bay.

A shadow lurked, Making me smile,

Oh ! I just found myself at trial.

That shadow, I believed it the least,

That's why I never lived, I just exist.

Dependent? No more,

Much confident than before.

Yes, tired, I do feel so as I look sour,

Still I persist like never before.

Blossoms that bloom,

Even after a day of gloom,

I believe that magic,

And the stars that shine so mystic,

Even after a long day, so caustic,

They return, reinstate and revive,

Embracing the sky more with life.

I choose the shine over sorrow,

A heart over horrow,

The sun over snow,

And a soul over shadow,

Today I believe a little more,

Just like never before
