Long lost friend....

Once, I had a friend

She was kind and sweet, 

Each and every moment with her, 

Was a treat! 

I could rely on her the most, 

To her all my secrets I would tell, 

And, whenever it was my birthday, 

She would give me presents; thoughtful and heartfelt. 

But one day, she left, 

Leaving me alone,

I was shocked and angry,

With all hopes of our friendship torn. 

Later I understood that

she had to sacrifice all her happiness for the well being of her family, 

I admire her until now, 

And I hope she is happy
