Love You Mamma

Thank you mamma, for feeding me,

And taking care of me when I was sick,

I didn’t want to bother you, believe me,

I tried to…… but I just couldn’t eat!

You forced food down my throat,

I snarled at you so many times,

As you just wouldn’t give up,

But, you saw that I ate something, for my daily need!

Even tablets and syrups you forced me to have,

So bitter and bad they were, I didn’t like them at all,

Even though I know they are good for me,

Till today, twice a day this ritual is still going on!

When will these tablets and bitter syrups end?

I am tired of having them after every meal,

You have reduced my readymade treats too,

Maybe it’s bad for my health you know!

You missed your classes and stayed back for me,

Sometimes you forced Pappa to stay with me,

You took me to the Veterinary doctor so many times,

I know he is so good and doing everything to help me heal!

I am getting better day by day, I can feel it inside me,

As I feel good and feel like eating without any fuss,

Last week you took me to St Anthony’s Shrine,

To thank him as he helped me heal so well and soon!

I heard Pappa say, you just brought me out of the danger zone,

And gifted good health back to me so soon,

By feeding me with your hand for so many days,

Relentlessly giving me my medicines from time to time!

I love it when you sit beside me looking for any ticks,

If stuck to my skin, now all dead due to the medicine effect,

I love it when you talk to me, it makes me so happy,

That’s why I wag my tail to show you how much I care!

How do I thank you both, my dear Mom and Dad?

I love you so much, I am now fine, don’t be sad,

I will eat well and keep myself strong and well,

We shouldn’t be going through all this ever again!
