Night And Day

Night And Day

2 mins

The sky so bright in starry light,

Sings a lullaby that bids goodnight.

Sailing across the clouds for miles,

The crescent moon comes up and smiles.

A spectre hue spreads across the night,

Painting the entire sky in misty white.

The gentle wind plays a mellow tune,

As it rustles across the lush green dune.

The crickets and cicadas join the fun,

As they too tune in to chirp and hum.

The sailing breeze glides over the flowers,

Spreading the subtle sweet aroma to others.

The Moon by now has cast its magical spell,

The magic of which is difficult to quell.

The sky is now clear and bright,

So much so the heaven is in sight.

The scent of flowers inebriate me,

Beguiled and Dazed I doze off free.

Now Time has waved its wand again,

Signalling the night to visit again.

The skies now turn golden bright,

Waking the birds nestled in their heights.

A soothing chirp here and there,

Wards off the magic cast unaware.

The breeze now starts to pick up the pace ,

Gently brushing across the face.

The Sun now rises from heavens above,

Painting the world from skies above.

Orange and red, yellow and blue,

The sky turns into a canvas for a picturesque view.

All that, which lost its colour and jest,

Is brought to life by the arriving guest.

The trees sway from hither and thither,

The river flows in perennial weather.

The flowers glisten and gleam in the light ,

Petals droop as droplets of dew alight.

The Sky now turns an ocean blue,

And the waves of clouds paint a whitish hue.

Streaks of rays kiss the ocean,

Paving a silver path across the ocean.

This is the cue for the fishermen at shores,

To start their usual daily chores.

The warmth of the sun invigorates life,

Breathing mirth to a new daily life.

Slowly but steadily the Sun moves up,

To the time of day where heat scorches up.

The wind now carries the heat with it,

Bringing an unpleasant feel to it.

The trees now feel the heat in bulk,

Parched and sweltered they begin to sulk.

Nature takes pity on this plight,

And orders the Sun to lessen its might.

And so comes the time of dusk,

The sun obliges and leaves its desk.

The Sky is filled in a dark red glow,

Colours of yellow and golden also flow.

The Sun then moves to greet and rest

The Mountain High and the lofty crest.

Then it moves across the Horizon bend,

Where the Ocean and Earth seem to end.

And as it parts it leaves an afterglow

The sight of which is a breath to hold.

And as I see this heavenly glow,

I think to myself as below :

Let me Colour myself in Abendrot,

To feel the warmth and love the Sun endows.

The chill in the wind seems to regain,

Cueing the return of night again........
