Night

O deadly night of fear and tortures

I beweep over thee, gorger of muscled sinew

O'friend of darkness and dim sculptures

Hath thralldomed the myth with sharpened yew'

Stour knight of darkness, O deadly night

Whilst I, on the peak of living fright

Captured my soul and qüenched my light

A plight lost in the sight of foreboding death

Hungry auguries hung at thee

Red eyes' Dark teeth' and rotten bones

Oblivion of my past and yet I flee

And sounds of elegies path'd me home

Scary owls and famished vultures

Shall then flee from graves' in miniatures
