No Heaven For Time
No Heaven For Time
Is there a heaven for the gods,
Where they retire to peacefulness,
Whence their threads of loose control,
Over an eccentric loop of chaos,
Slip through their creative fingers,
Where the Almighty resides passively,
Perhaps deciding on the next caretaker,
Time where is eternal and holy,
Not knowing where to turn,
In the absence of a purpose,
For good or bad,
Time here forgets itself,
Amid all the saints,
The villain wanders disheartened,
One that could dare to measure,
Omnipotence,
No!
Perchance time loses consciousness,
One cannot fathom that destruction,
Would that erase everything,
That came into being,
Or would that freeze all of,
What we can perceive,
Is confounding,
Origins, roots, life, the old battles with the books,
Become Unintelligible,
And so time lives,
Time lives to keep us going,
Time remains essential,
Pervasive in our world,
But up there,
Ever so lonely,
And debilitated,
If gods have heavens too,
It's a hell for time.
