O Sun Of Hope
O Sun Of Hope
Has the sun not journeyed far in our sky, O Africa?
Or is its slumber purloining over its senses?
O sun of hope, arise and see:
The Azure trees, Chrysanthemums and Rosewood
That could so boast of their loveliness
Are now searching for shea butter to get rid of their wrinkles
Our water and food security,
So crippled and defenceless due to changes in weather patterns and precipitation
It is true that the enemy of a man is not another man but his own lousy actions
The Terra Firma, so hurt!
How it wished it could voice out loudly
But its voice, a mere whisper
We are its only hope for we are the seed
But we need to be planted in the soil
And without the soil, the seed is worthless
That's why our hearts whispered to the land
That we would search for you like a voyager and bring you home
O sun of hope, have you not slept at the East for long?
Arise to the West and hear the plight of the figures of the soil you pour your rays on
Our tears are not visible, but it does not mean we do not cry
Asare Yaw Jamuel.
