Pendency Day
Pendency Day
For this August Day celebration, my heart doesn't sway
Many citizens in strife can't find their way.
Looking at the state of the nation I bemoan
With pain in my heart, I groan.
Wearing yet another colorful turban man will make a speech
Each year see the country's value leach.
Turmoil in the soul's heart does boil
Thinking of the numerous citizens for their livelihood toil.
As a patriot see the cherished values rot
In history, this period will never remain a blot.
Myriad emotions within me I feel tied up in a knot
Trapped within myself with words I express my wrought.
