Pity the Rich

The rich people amass wealth grabbing more and more,

Aspiring to build a cushion of comfort and luxury to enjoy in the future,

The rich people spend life under much stress and strain,

And fail to enjoy sound sleep which gives them pain,

Most reluctantly some hesitate to pay more tax which causes them pain,

To evade tax some also hoard in foreign countries for future gain,

If properties are not fairly earned and found disproportionate,

The sword of Damocles hanging on the head at any time may make them upset,

They don't get mental peace out of much wealth,

Nor they can afford to part with or donate before the last breath,

Affluence increases haughtiness causing loss of humanity,

The most precious quality of a man is eaten away by vanity,

As more spices spoil the food making it unpalatable or sour,

Richness may destroy the humanity of a man like the loss of perfume of a flower,

Hence rich people suffer more pains than the poor,

So, let us pity the rich but not the poor who sleep well and snores.
