Remember why we died

He did not wish tribute or song,

Nor monuments

Nor poems of war or valor

His wish was simple

Remember us, remember us.

That was his last hope,

In all the countless centuries

Yet to be,

Should any free soul 

Come across that place

May all your voices.....

Whisper to you from the ageless stones

Go tell the peoples, passerby

".........that has

Neither we bent down nor we lie" 

My friends died

Also, my brothers were

But time has proven them

The word was spread

They laid down their lives

Not just for his colleagues

But for his country.

But that was his last hope, Remember us.
