Shadows Of The Past

He avoided being in the spotlight

Every time he tried to get

attention, he was in need

A battle broke out, with an

unsatisfactory result

He thus learned to withdraw and

vanish into the night

As the efforts to break free grew

tiresome

He started believing he was the

problem

He yearned for love and someone

to look at him.

The value he might provide and

the potential he could bring

But the battles that followed and

the scars they left behind caused

him to question his ability

Through the chaos and the noise

He stands there, firm and poised

Amidst the screaming and the

cursing

His resolve remains unyielding

For he knows that in this moment

He must stand tall and own it

And if he doesn't have his back

Then who else will be on his

track?
