Snowdrop and the Lily
Snowdrop and the Lily
The giver of life unrolls its rays,
Dissolving the darkness of the long frost
Scent of dawn reaches
The abodes of shivering fowls; crouched and exhaust.
It’s the call of songbird
That rings across the white winter alley,
A white buoyant snowdrop arises,
Reviving the long dead frozen valley.
A ray of desire streams
Awakening the lily, frozen and withered long ago...
The dawn of fresh spring unfurls its colors,
Chopping down cold bitterness of winter snow.
The virtuous white lily rejoices,
Embracing the untold pure story,
Every moment is bliss with that little snowdrop,
Which turned to lily’s little glory
Astonishing is the nature,
What wonders it beholds,
Two unlikely individuals,
Become the elements of that tale never told.
Every moment is joyous,
Every day is a new hope,
Snowdrop and lily melt in the spring aroma,
Fates entangled in the magical time rope.
Alas! The destiny dawned upon
It was life my dear friend!
Never did they realize,
Every story is not a happy end…
Ages passed in a flash,
Seasons changed again,
White little snowdrop perished away,
While the lily screeched in pain.
Next spring morn never came,
Never did the snowdrop rose again,
While the lily waited in valley, hopeful eyes searching her glory,
Through the winter and through the rain.
The wheel of time progressed on,
Does it ever stop?
Virtuous lily followed its trail,
With nothing, but memories of her radiant snowdrop...
