Take Off: A Short Poem
Take Off: A Short Poem
I always wondered about magic,
Of powers that could make me fly.
But as I grew and faced the tragic,
I became grounded and began to cry.
As naive I had many wishes
I prayed all to be true
With my hand folded innocently
I hoped to make it through
I was in torment facing the falsity
I realized this isn't a fairy tale
If I do not tussle with myself
Then I would patently fail.
Today I am clever enough to evince,
My dear older self to remember.
Patience will always be salient,
Whatever happens, just don't surrender.
I'm learning from my fallacy,
Penning my own prodigious book
To entice the world along with me
So that they'll know where to look.
I am writing how to build a plane
That would take us far too close
To the places, we wish when we pray
Being the ones to fulfill those
Follow the wise or fly your own,
Destiny would still be the same.
This way or the other doesn't matter
You'll eventually finish this game.
For years I have been grounded
Its time to snap that thread
Let me take off with the full throttle
And complete my voyage ahead.
