Tears of Laughter
Tears of Laughter
They said I would fall,
And I did
They laughed at me
And threw some mud
Abuses, refusals,
Daily part and parcel
Seemed to become too heavy
For me to carry any further
A chide, a rebuke,
Seemed to hurt me so
My blood was usurped by the thirsty ground,
But there was none in me
They said I wouldn't get up
And would remain forever crippled
But this time, they were wrong -
I made them wrong
I dusted myself and cleansed myself
Enriched my inner soul
Got back walking till success came
And embraced me for my efforts
Now I share a house with success,
And will do so forevermore
The look on the face of those who told no,
Makes me laugh till tears roll down!
