The Boiling Water Test

The boiling water tests the egg and spud,

One hardens and the other turns out soft.

But neither can escape their fate or blood,

They only change according to their lot.

But we are not like them, we have a choice,

To face the heat and rise above the pain.

We can withstand the trials and find our voice,

Or let them break us down and leave a stain.

It's not the circumstances that define,

The kind of person that we choose to be.

It's what we're made of, how we use our mind,

To shape our destiny and live free.

So, when the water boils, don't be afraid,

Remember who you are and what you're made.
