The Divine Proposal: A Salvation Story
The Divine Proposal: A Salvation Story
The world was little less polluted,
When hearts were less corrupted;
We stood watching the flowers,
As it rained gentle like showers;
Later, we played long in the garden:
Chasing butterflies with no burden;
He listened to my tales with admiration,
As I gazed at His stars in fascination;
We were best-friends-inseperable,
As we loved each other immeasurable.
Every night as we gazed at the night sky,
I kept telling Him, "I want to shine bright,
Like the stars blazing in the dark night";
We spent hours talking my silliness,
And I told Him "I want to be different,
Like those butterflies flying in the garden;
Gliding high together in the sky open,
Hopping through the branches often,
Hand in hand! so nothing can separate us now,
We'll be sliding through the rainbow"!
Soon after I marched towards school,
I followed standards that seemed so cool;
He kept waiting for me everyday,
But I kept ignoring Him each day;
Sin creapt in and I had my deviation,
I no longer shared Him my imagination;
Awestruck at the world's wonders,
I got messed up with a lot blunders;
Life took a twist towards pain and guilt,
Imprisoning me in the imagination I built.
I traveled far hoping to find friends,
Forbidden fruits disguised in latest trends;
Made me lose innocence with sanity shaken:
Filled with hatred and standing forsaken,
I began missing my true beloved Friend,
As I searched for Him in ways to amend,
Wandering aimlessly in the scorching sun,
Until I found an old rugged cross, shun;
There He stood, arms wide open in concern,
Waiting breathlessly zealous for my return.
