The Sad Sculpture: A Tale
The Sad Sculpture: A Tale
Walking past the campus gate,
I saw her motionless with a fate;
Yet, the sad sculpture was very fair,
Inspiring the students with good cheer;
I meet her every day during my recess,
And she silently greets me with 'success '.
Once I felt something strange,'
That she and I were similar in a range;
'The emotionless sculpture feels lonely?
Concealing all her feelings in wholly?'
I simply ignored her being clueless,
Foolishly considering that she is lifeless.
Being the old concrete form of Nature,
She strived silently to make her stay firmly mature;
And despite being at the third remove from reality,
She searched in inscrutable ways for the possibility;
To survive among the fittest and run,
Amidst the violence of the wild sun.
One day I sensed her smile,
And I watched her from within a mile;
She said nothing, still,
An unknown fear clothed me with a chill,
Oh, no! I am not ready to send off my friend,
Am I going to lose another friend?
I hurried to stop them but,
There she proudly stood with a cut;
Oh, no! My beloved mate!
Nearby the campus gate,
With an eerie silence of Hell,
Bidding me a cherished farewell.
