The First Lovers
The First Lovers
The first man wandered alone,
Through the grasslands of his home,
Searching for another like him,
Made in the God’s own epitome
When he saw her,
Underneath the apple tree,
He jumped with joy and cheered happily,
Coz he had found his purpose, certainly
He approached her,
As she watched him come near,
Their eyes met,
And their hearts did spur
The only two of a kind,
Had found each other,
Now was the time,
For celebrations to usher
They whispered romantically,
And chuckled nervously,
Starting with holding hands,
They explored each other’s bodies earnestly
They loved each other,
Although they didn’t know,
Alas, the feeling was short-lived,
When a third one showed
Now a competition ensued,
To capture the attention of the lone woman,
One used love and the other used lust,
The pendulum swung between the both of them
One employed honesty,
while the other deployed sophistry,
One implored her to give him a chance,
While the other used cunning to sound extraordinary
The woman enjoyed the affection of both,
Never committing herself to either,
Let this be a lesson to all out there,
Both love and lust are required to woo her
