The Lover's Wait
The Lover's Wait
Far and wide in this mortal and dicey world,
A lady waits in patience for her lover's glance
Fearlessly counting on the autumnal winds-
blowing by in the late evening, under the starry sky.
Weening minutes a lightyear she casts hope,
Gliding higher on the valleys of Mt. Olympus,
Eager to witness the blissful moment of oneness
Confining her beloved with gaiety and inanity.
Yonder, is he, with a warmth illuminating her soul
Which in a dead of winter can make flowers grow
Sweetness abides then in the clouds above
Unravelling the magical mysteries in Mt. Olympus.
Sooner, the bitter time to revert befalls
When the sweetest kiss waits to bid them apart;
Alas! She treads back in the misty path,
Then the lover ponder, "as you wait for me, I owe it to you"...
