The Magical Cube

I stare at my hands, at this figure,

At its myriad blend of colours,

At its mesmerizing beauty, taking me in its wave,

Into the ocean of possibilities and combinations,

Into the world of astounding perfection.

I watch it turn, its unchanging changingness,

Its colourful designs brimming with vividness,

Its enchanting transit of phases,

I watch it go from a state of confusion,

To a state of flawless completion.

I stare at the once -bewildering pieces,

Of a 3-cube - deceptively even and easy.

I stare in frustration and disbelief,

Racking my brains, yet making no headway,

Stuck in the same stages every single day.

Meandering through combinations, like a stream,

I progress slowly, steadily, then it gleams,

Like light at the end of a tunnel,

The solution materializes before my very eyes,

It was lurking all along, I realise.

Rubik's cubes tell the tale of our problems, 

Starting in a state of conundrum, 

Then viewing things in the right perspective,

Then moving forward with determination,

Gradually, towards a state of completion.

All along, mastering new skills,

Of discovery, feeling the thrill,

Seizing every possible chance,

Persisting, trying every combination,

And finally arriving at a solution.
