The Moon's Lover

The dark, I do not mind

For it is during the night I find

The beauty that the sun hides

The moon against the dark of night.

What a pretty picture it makes!

Gogh and Vinci all are fakes.

And often do the clouds and stars

For his love, do start wars.

The shimmering stars dance

Around the moon for a chance.

The clouds do cry and pine

For the moon's magical wine.

But the stars cannot reach out

To the moon's whereabouts.

Though, on his face their light be felt

He's got eyes for someone else.

The night is in my breast

And the moon in its nest.

My moon's lovers strive

Till on the roof I arrive.

The stars may dazzle and burn

They cannot away turn-

Nor the clouds sway-

My lover's love away.

For all the beauties and beasts

Know that the moon feasts

On the orbs of my sight

Darker than the night.

My lips more red than red

Together we go to bed.

I fall into his pits,

He and I are perfect fits.

All the dark divine

And the moon is mine

For I do believe as I see,

The moon is in love with me.
