The Rising Fool
The Rising Fool
For you are down there
And I am up here among the clouds and the nice warm air.
You see your harsh words and lack of respect got me
Thinking that there could be less of the bitter truth and dangerous tone of your voice
Because we used to be friends and that was our choice.
But now we've grown,
It's not been together with my emotions askew I'm left in the cold;
Discarded not cared for, invisible I'm disregarded.
Yet I stay strong as so many have said,
Not give up the fight for a piece of me is already dead.
The best of you is something I used to spite,
It wasn't the success it was a fire alight.
You see I've grown too and what you see now is indifference
For I've become thankful to those who are not you,
I've learnt to forgive, remember not to forget
And appreciate your temporary effects.
Are your temporary effects.
