This Pandemic
This Pandemic
My hands shake and my heart breaks
As more and more lives this pandemic takes
It chews them up and spits them out sicker
How I'd like time to pass by quicker
I'd like to move forward into better times
I fear the worst every time the phone chimes
Any innocence I had held onto is now lost
Because even the purest should are bearing the cost
My hope has been shattered and buried in its grave
As I brace myself for the news of yet another wave
This is not a pandemic it's an episode of a death note
And I wish I could have brought back one life for every poem I wrote
I'm tired of seeing people perish and seeing them suffer
Because in these unprecedented times, we haven't even truly got each other
