Time Heals?

My grandparents are good.

They never lie.

My father sometimes does,

I don't know where he got it from

but my grandparents doesn't.

It's been years dada passed away but dadi still keeps a glass filled on the shelf by her side,

so he wouldn't have to walk downstairs to the kitchen, midnight.

When dadi makes tea, she takes out two cups unknowingly

while running them under sink she calls herself silly (and turns one upside down).

I don't find any signs of sadness.

I don't find any change.

Except her hair, as now dadi don't complain about there entanglement.

Anyway, today she overheard me crying.

Later, called to tell me 'time heals'.

Again, my grandparents never lie.

But today...I think, she lied.

Because years or hours, time heals aught.

Dadi. It's been years you're gone but I still keep your glasses on the shelf beside,

so you won't fall on your way to washroom, midnight.

Sometimes while making tea I too take out two cups unknowingly.

and while running them under sink I call myself silly.

I don't find any sign of sadness.

I don't find any change.

Except, when a girl is crying,

I never say 'time heals,

Because like you I know,

aught heals.
