Until The Day When...

(This is exactly what a three-year-old Syrian boy said before he died from injuries caused by bomb shrapnel)

“I’m gonna tell God everything”

The little angel said before he

Set off for his abode in the lap of God,

And I know very soon farmers

Will have a tough time

Telling potatoes from beetroots.

And children will play in

Reddish puddles of blood

While their grandfathers will look on.

Thanks to those lords of war

Very soon our angels will leave us,

One after the other, hurt and wounded and sad

And you and I will all look on........

But, until the day when

We lose more of our angels

And we have none to lose

And we are too free to be scared

To drown those lords of war in their own pools of blood.
