Walls Have Ears

The walls have ears, they say,

But I say they have eyes, too.

For they watch and see all we do,

And everything we pursue.

Their ears may hear our every word,

But their eyes see so much more.

They see the good and bad we've done,

And all that lies in store.

So, listen well, and heed my words,

For walls have more than ears and eyes.

Their mouths may not speak, but they hear,

And judge all our lies.

Their hearts may be made of stone,

But they feel all that we do.

Their souls may not be alive,

But they watch over me and you.

So, let's be mindful of the walls,

And all that they perceive.

Let's be true and honest in all,

And keep our consciences clean.

For even though the walls have ears,

It's our hearts they must reach.
