Were there no hearers, there would be no backbiters
Were there no hearers, there would be no backbiters
"Lo, how sad it is to me,
To hear of claims so cruel,"
Yet it has become the reality,
To ignore thus would deem me a fool.
Those who once matched our rhythm,
Those who at one point held steadfast,
Were but seen only through a prism,
As their unfavorable gaze is all that's cast.
While their departure none can deny,
They're unwilling to hold back,
As it seems they only abide by,
Subtle yet harsh forms of attack.
One can only hope that they will see,
The only outcome they'll ever grasp,
Is the acknowledgment of pity,
As their actions will only widen the gap
