What is Your Story ?
What is Your Story ?
Waking up early morning for school
Never was a reality for us or a rule
Silence shattering with the sound of war
Bereavement and wreckage near and far
In harm’s way caught in a crossfire
Situation here is rather very dire
My childhood stands threatened
Displaced, waiting just to see the end.
Devastation of war is meaningless to me
Never brings good or any bonhomie
Yet we fight and tear things apart
Bring an end to all dear to our heart
Inhumaneness escalated with biased tones
There is rarely anyone who never moans
Our future outlook is just too bleak
Education a priority we never seek
Accuse the terrorists of all the mayhem
Ravaging conditions, they are to blame
Pleading eyes of children hurt homeless
Violence and hardship causing a mess
Vulnerable as we are difficult to starve
Tears and hunger both not easy to curb
Painful memories are all that we carry
Witness to this long battle just too weary.
Will this go on and on forever unabated
Can I go out to play without being hated
When can I see the clear pristine blue sky
No smoke or smolder but birds flying high
Syria my dear country the land of my birth
To me the greatest place on this earth
My dear adults this is my sordid story
May no kid suffer this grisly and gory
