Willing To Fight (Week 17 Theme: Women)
Willing To Fight (Week 17 Theme: Women)
Woe to men, we are the pillars of family relationships
Though weaker, our words are followed in the manner of dictatorships
We were the ones who made the country proud by bagging overseas scholarships
Standing against all odds, we fought for our children’s rightful ownership.
Right now, the highest office in our land is being graced by a woman
In intellect and agility, we can equal the prowess of two men
Who said that the proper place for women lies in the kitchen?
We have left history behind us, moving ahead on our path and mission-giving.
We brought our country the Oscar this year for best documentary,
We have broken all barriers and entered avowed male territory…
We bring all the assigned tasks to completion and not in a manner cursory
Women are known for their dedication; doldrums come to an end satisfactorily.
Mothers, wives, daughters – we can don any role with equal elan,
Our answers are always blowin’ in the wind, apologies to Bob Dylan –
We wear bindis in various shapes, also in the way of a semicolon;
To fight is a gene we’ve all inherited, you may say that it’s hormonal.
