Yours, Heartlessly
Yours, Heartlessly
I often wonder why I didn’t I see
The truth behind the beautiful lies you bestowed upon me.
Maybe I was addicted to the sound of it all,
Maybe you were addicted to lying till I fall.
It seems like just yesterday,
When you told me you had a promise to keep.
But when did you become so heartless,
That it was her heart you chose to keep?
In a room filled with chaos and people,
And yet, I’m all alone,
Suddenly, my heart just sinks,
Thinking why is yours made of stone.
I am haunted by your heartlessness,
Even worse when I hear our song,
You told me I was a girl who’s strong,
But somewhere you were wrong.
How long can I hold on to what’s not mine?
My feelings can’t help but cross that line.
I think of this question all the time,
Why did you leave us, O heartless divine?
