A New Beginning

I believe in destiny, the one I write everyday myself. A popular saying. Well, to be honest, I've never ever encountered a 'life-changing' moment until 21st March 2020. That wasn't just a life- changing moment but a destiny-changing moment. 

While, the entire world was suffering from Covid-19, I felt utterly helpless. Additionally, I felt as if I didn't exist. I could not do anything for the poor people who begged for their basic needs, I could not protect a homeless orphan and most importantly, I could not save anyone. Humanity smirked at me. Ahh! This is you Aanvi, isn't it? How can you be so cold-hearted? I felt as if I'd die from this guilt.

This was the time when my 10th boards had just got completed and we were soon about to choose our respective fields. Like almost every brilliant student, I had pledged to opt Mathematics. But somewhere or the other, my heart wasn't absolutely ready for this. Moreover, I wasn't the type of student who dreamt of cracking IIT or such things. I just wanted to serve people and receive their blessings. After all, education doesn't mean degrees and ranks, (atleast according to me) It just means being wise and using your intelligence for the betterment of humanity. 

I was never the 'emotional' kind of girl but thinking of doctors today, melts my heart. I'm very much grateful to Corona Virus for making me realize that more than any other profession, doctors are required more and more in the world. Thinking of being an Engineer never made me feel sincere or responsible, but imagining being a Doctor just makes me feel so blessed and it purifies my heart just to another level. I had never thought even in my wildest dreams that I'd ever want to become a doctor. Crammimg notes and studying for a whole lot of 10 years wasn't my kind of thing at all. Truly, I haven't felt this motivated lately. This is a new beginning and I'm definitely a new person.

The craziest thing is I did not even think of writing this as a story. I'm not even checking this twice as this has been poured from my soul.
