The scholars wandered throughout the vast area of Viyshak to search for any settlement, even though there were not many residential villages in Viyeshak because most of the natives were hunting nomads and pasturers.

Still, there were few settlements who begun to take risks and lean towards agriculture and animal husbandry.

One such village in Viyeshak which was situated on banks of Redquartz river, became their final refuge.

This humble village was one of the very few settlements of the novice farmers who were shifting their way of life towards agriculture, and hence they decided to build a village on banks of Redquartz river and were preparing nearby lands for farming.

The people of this village were already living a tough life because of their inexperience in farming, so they were somewhat hesitant to accept scholars in their run down village because they were already low on recourses, the natives were a little bit wary of the scholars because of their strange outfits that is comparable to some steampunk era.

The scholars understood their problems very well,

It is not surprising that Agriculture has lots of risks and even more so if you do not have any experience and less fertile lands.

The scholars offered them help to improve their agricultural activities and prepare the lands accordingly with the seasons, weather and the calendar of sun and moon.

They introduced their knowledge of agriculture metallurgy, governance, economics, medicine and militaristic technology with them as their bargain chip so that they could settle down in Viyeshak.

Although the only practical, useful knowledge for villagers was knowledge of metallurgy, medicine and agriculture, yet they agreed to provide shelter to the scholar in exchange for their help in building their new agricultural way of life.

The scholars took the responsibility sincerely to guide them towards prosperity and revealed the way to make tools, equipment and new agricultural knowledge, that included the crop pattern for different season and tools that harness the power of nature.

The most interesting tool for natives was the water wheel,

It was such a miracle tool that could solve many of their misery at once, the water wheel can transport water from low river banks and lift to the canals connecting farmlands, at the same time it can be used to grind cereals to make flour.

But Then again comes The fear of failure and something unknown. For the dwellers of the village, the concept of this waterwheel machine was way too good to be true, there were many doubts that emerged in their minds, this simple wheel, will it really lift water from the river? Will it not solve half of their wretchedness regarding irrigation?

Well, no one could blame them, they haven't been introduced with law of physics and the way of gear works with machines,

But It cannot be neglected that Doubting the result before even putting any devoted effort is already halfway towards failure, one must believe in what they are trying to do to make it successful.

The history is full of both the enlightened ones and the miserable kind who firmly believed in their own beliefs, both of them were way too successful in persuading the masses, even the highest of cerebral of their era, just because they firmly held faith in what they believed.

The scholars at least managed to persuade the craftsmen from Vieyshak because of their immeasurable faith in the knowledge they held,

The craftsmen eventually agreed to at least give it a try. Even if the result they get in failure.

At most they will lose material and their time, but if the waterwheel works, it will be the driving force for a new revolutionary irrigation system and they will be remembered in history for creating the first waterwheel ever built.

The workers and craftsmen from the village, then Immersed their souls while crafting the first water wheel, they very keen to make this new machine and devoted their time to learn about its working and the measurements.

And Just in next 2 months, the native workers and scholars with their combined efforts, fully developed a working watermill on bank of red quartzz river, although the design was somewhat crude, the speed of wheel was not even and the distribution of weight was unequal, there was also the problem with friction in Axel, even though it was not perfect but it was indeed a working water wheel and it did the work that is supposed to do,

Also, considering that it was their first attempt of creating a new, unknown tool, they were very enthusiastic and happy because the risk they took to make this tool for 2 months and their hard work indeed finally produced results.

Well, not much satisfactory result, but they didn't complain much, the prototype was at least working.. It was better than failure, It is as the saying goes, Something is better than nothing.

They observed the water wheel for test and marked the various areas for further improvement, the waterwheel was not very aesthetically pleasing for the eyes, it was making creepy noises due to the friction on Axel and tension in joints, to give more visual imagination, the water wheel looked liked  some river monster with creepy noise, suffering from bone structural deformation and trying to get out of the river, in fact the kids nearby were actually very scared by it. But then again why complain, it was just a prototype and their first attempt to make something new, even if it looks ugly Aesthetically, as long as it works, it's good, isn't it?

The first water wheel they created was not perfect, but it inspired them to make more waterwheels and improve them until they become perfect and aesthetically pleasing,

The craftsmen then worked again to create more water wheels.

They continuously gained experience by trial and error method to improve it further more and made it precise with measurements.

Fortunately, In their fourth attempt, the water wheel they produced this time was way better than its first prototype, it was working gracefully with uniform speed and very less noise, they used the self-lubricating wood to compensate for the friction on the joints and axle.

They used the dye to colour the wheel and polished the wax to protect the wheel from the water.

The craftsmen were very proud of their work and they turned into crafting fanatics, maybe they were overly motivated by their success of waterwheels they created a special workshop just to produce more waterwheels.

The words about this machine spread over neighboring settlements of new farmers who were facing similar problems regarding irrigation.

The chiefs from nearby settlements decided to visit the village near the redquartz river to experience this miracle with their own eye.

For those who saw this machine for the first time, they were admiring the power of knowing something like this, this incident spread like wildfire with passing through mouths and ears that whoever heard of a phenomenon to lift water up from the river while grinding cereal at the same times.

For simple people who were dependent on seasonal hunting and farming, this was something like magic. Simple yet convenient.

People scattered all over Viyeshak frequently visited in the village where Scholars settled To know more about watermill.

The scholars too were impressed and somewhat happy with their curiosity, once they were stripped of everything they had, but they decided to do what they can do the best, it is when they decided to restart teaching in that village once again and laid the foundation of a new school for a price affordable for all,

Indeed, they were academic fanatics, earning money was not their goal as they were happy with what they can earn to keep them barely alive, but they still charged a very little amount of money. Not to earn their salary, but to make their disciple realize that the knowledge they are receiving is earned by their hard earned coins, for it is in human nature that the things provided them to free as charity, they might take it for granted and the knowledge they earn will lose its value,

Soon many young folks start to gather in this small village just so that they can join the new school.

The school was getting popular, the more people learned, the more curious they became, eventually seeing the growing popularity of school, the village chiefs of all villages across Viyeshak agreed to make the school bigger to accommodate more students as well as shelters for those who wanted to stay nearby for studies.

The school eventually become a large public university funded by all the natives of Viyeshak, the new settlers were increasing and the small village that was home to this university transformed into a town in just a year, the crafting technology of Viyeshak become so advanced that traders and merchants around continent start to flow in Viyshak despite its harsh landscape.

And the scholars who had been just some runaway fugitive 8 months ago, they are now regarded as the divine apostle for Viyshak, people were very respectful towards them, and why shouldn't they be, it was they who transformed a land of nothing into a flourishing town with incoming trade and paddlers.

And that is how the foundation of a city was laid, a city which was built for the purpose of knowledge and those who desire to throw away their fear of the unknown.

It is like a cellar of gods with boons of luxury, it is very addictive, it is the knowledge, the power to know the surroundings., the power to harness the forces of nature, indeed it is addictive, the thirst is ever growing, the more you know, the more you want to know....
