A Torchbearer

After a long and tiring day in the fields, the man and his faithful companion made their way back to the all familiar desination called "Home" from where they had ventured by legs as usual 15 hours ago to reach the fields located in the countryside or outskirts.

Both walked in complete silence not because they were lost in thoughts but because it was too late in the night and an inappropriate or inauspicious time to talk. Emotions like actions speak louder than words. You should know how to express your emotions without uttering a single word.

Every now and then he looked at her with deep concern, patting and stroking her back assuringly and motivating (goading) her to take some more steps forward. Faith, assurance, and motivation can move mountains - history has shown and you can find few examples.

After what seemed to be endless hours of journey, they reached the familiar sight of their destination & shelter home. He quickly walked ahead and opened the sprawling gate. She walked through the gate and entered the premises with a sigh of relief & contention. She looked at him with a deep sense of gratitude, wanting to thank him profusely but did not know how (to thank verbally). Simply because he was a "MAN" and she was a "COW" !

A Man is a true man when he escorts his companion judiciously to a No-man's land or terrain with courage and conviction. He is then termed as the "Torchbearer" !
