Are we advanced enough to accept the myriad of colours?

Colours have always been detrimental to the growth of the human race. Yes, I am talking about the myriad of the skin colours. Humans are of different shades, externally and internally. Somewhere along the line, the community began differentiating people about on their skin. This might not seem bad until one category attempts to control or colonise the others. The alarming aspect is that the rift does not stop with it. People with a different skin tone have forgotten for their rights and even managed to almost establish a place for themselves in the community. However, we are facing a different kind of challenge in this era. People are obsessed with fairer skin. Companies use this desperation to formulate and market their cosmetic products. Somewhere along the line, people did stop worrying about healthy skin and began their quest for fair skin. They began to attempt various natural and chemical remedies to enhance their tone. I am a victim myself though I won't subject myself to these techniques, thanks to my procrastination. But the issue is more dangerous than colonisation as it destroys the confidence of the person.
