Becoming Rich

I come from a below-poverty-line background. My parents used to earn their daily wages. My father used to drive a taxi and my mother had to run a home business of selling handmade paper bags to earn a living. I always saw them working so hard but still, they were not rich. I felt a bit of annoyance for them as I had so many demands and dreams like other kids of my age but my parents never fulfilled them. They used to say, “We are able to earn money which is enough only to fulfill our hunger and your school fee.” This made me angry at them and sometimes I yelled at them.

One day I was in bed to sleep and my parents were having supper. I overheard them talking about the financial problems of the family. They were also upset that they could not give me the luxuries that I wanted. But they had no choice. They weren’t able to save enough for my wants. That day I decided to become rich. I started fantasizing about ideas. However, no idea comes to reality until it is implemented practically. I knew that.

From the next day on, I started to find kids in my area who needed education but couldn’t afford the school fee. I taught them at their homes at an affordable price. My parents were unaware of this. I continued this until I completed my schooling. I never told my parents about my earnings and I secretly saved the money.

The place where I lived was much alike a village. There were no facilities for good education and health. There was also no electricity. We had to do all our work under oil lamps. I came up with the idea of opening an institute that can provide good education at a cheaper price and would avail good medical facilities to the people. So, I contacted and collaborated with other institutions in nearby towns. There were interested in my proposal and offered their share of help. With the savings I had and using what I received from my collaborators, I turned my idea into a reality. The institution I opened, had well-trained teachers and experienced doctors. People from nearby towns also came there to study and for medical checkups. This boosted my earnings and my collaborators did their best to send more people to my institution. Within a few months of opening the institute, I started making around Rs. 40,000 a month. This was a big amount for anyone in my village. My parents always supported me in my step.

Now my family is the richest in the whole village. We have a big house and a luxury car. Apart from the education and health facilities, I offered many other things and facilities of need to my village which increased my income. I didn’t have to collaborate with any other companies or institutions. I made my poor family rich and I achieved my dream.
