“Hey!”, she texted.

 “Hii, was waiting for you”.

Rikisha tied her wavy hair into a pony tail typing, “sorry”.

“You can message or call me any time you are free.”

Her fingers tapped onto the screen the same way as rose drops making a soft sound, “I don’t want to interfere with your private life”.

“Nothing’s hidden from you. ”

These words were enough to bring a luminous smile on her glossy lips.

“Lets meet? And don’t give any thin excuse”, texted Varad.

After citing her thoughts and keen thinking she replied, “I don’t think it’s the perfect time to meet”.

“ What’s the deal with you? Sometimes I can’t get my head around it .”

Rikisha and Varad met on a social app and it had been months since she was denying to date or meet him. However, it was her past relationship and her belief in destiny that she was not ready to date again. Rikisha feared that she was an Aries, a fiery, messy person which can burn down the perfect earth sign Virgo. According to sign compatibilities it was a difficult match and to make this relationship work it required efforts from both sides.

“Rikisha doesn’t stir up trouble, just keep it simple”.

With lot to pour out but can’t explain, she kept conversation quite. Along with the thought of losing Varad, she was also afraid of going through sorrow another time in case this relation falls which made Rikisha played as everything was unapproachable.

“I will…”, said her.

“So is it meeting or it’s girlfriend..”.

Being suffocated with thoughts, choking her neck with words to utter, she finally vented, “all I worry is….”.

“I am not sure how things will go. There is no good emotional bridge, sexual compatibility between our zodiac signs and we are quite opposite to each other.”

“I am worried if one of us gets hurt or burn .”

“Spend some time with me.”

“I can’t see wood for the trees. Give me time to think”, was all she answered.

Rikisha spent weekend with her family, she used to work at an animation studio the same city where Varad lives and works as regional manager at a fitness club. After thinking long and hard she decided to meet Varad.

“Retro café, 7 PM, coming Sunday”, Rikisha messaged.

Both of them were thrilled and anxiously waited for sunday. What was this rendezvous going to end with?

A gentle hyee distracted him from looking at a happy couple and their kid outside the window.

“Hii Risha…”, a deep infectious voice was enough to describe mesomorph dusky body.

“Was waiting for you”, the two said and chortled.

It was an indelible, mesmerizing night leading to more dates, movie nights and meetings. Although in between Rikisha experienced rollercoaster ride of anger but Varad was always there to calm heated waves. They both decided to move in together. Initial days were good

however, things started to turn unfortunate when Mr. perfect became fussy and started to point out faults of her.

“Risha, where were you? I had been calling you since an hour.”

“Sorry.. was consumed in work”, she replied.

“You knew we had lunch with my parents, that too we were going to talk about us.”

“You could have texted me, we all were waiting for you. ”

Slowly the relationship between them started to burn both of them when their blunt, impatient nature of one was criticised by judgemental. Varad began to be emotionally distant from Rikisha.

“Why are you not there when I need you most? ”

“Please sorry.. don’t be angry”.

“You never listens, huhh! All you do is being careless, stubborn, selfish.”

“I want to tell you something important.”

“At the end you are left with these apologies and excuses. ”

“What you wanted Varad a remote controlled toy? You know, this was the part of our life that I was always afraid of. ”

“You were right Rikisha, you uhh were..” this is never gonna work.”

“You want to end ou..”

“Yahh, it’s done”, continued Varad.

Not only Rikisha whose name meant rose but also Varad meaning fire himself was burned in the fire of their fate.

AFTER THREE YEAR’S…

Varad saw a little girl playing with her mom in the park and startled he jumped from his bench and approached her without giving a second thought.

“Hey..”

Deep voice was enough to tell Rikisha it was Varad.

“Heyy Varad”, she replied while turning towards him.

“How are you? Where were you these years?”

“Nice and you? I was in Ohio.”

“I am good, ahh”, nodding his head .

“How’s everything?”

“All is good.”

“She is pretty, what’s her name?”, looking at baby.

“Pari, she is..”

“Varad, let's go”, Rikisha was interrupted by a pregnant woman.

Rikisha saw that lady holding hands of Varad and she stops.

The news he never got to listen to was they were going to become parents and Pari was their daughter.
