Day-11-The Content

The old serials are back. Our very own DD National is in demand. Yes. That’s the best thing which the lockdown must be thanked for.

The web content is more of personal, at your place, your choice. You will be more yourself while watching. But somewhere we lost the fun of watching the TV altogether, waiting for our favourite content for a week. No repeat, no pause. Anyways, no problem with the platform, here all I want to share is about the type of content being watched.

There was a time on TV when we could find the real of us every day. Relatable Indian content, I started watching in my early childhood and continued until we bought a cable connection, the private channels.

And then the year 2000 and all the later years have spoiled everything. Now really it is an idiot box. Obviously there is no need to specify the reasons. Once upon a time, we used to say “Let’s watch TV”. Yes TV itself was being watched. And now we say, “Who watches TV”. Today the TV is all about household slaps and snacks.

20 years later, again we are going to repeat the history. On the web, it is an era of guns and drugs. Everywhere it’s the dark or the dirt. Even it has become a style, measure of intelligence watching such content (dark), someday we may be tired.

Don’t take me wrong. I personally like the dark genre too. The real worry is somewhere we do not promote the real Indian content, as on today neither on the TV nor on the web.

We accepted the old serials again, with full joy. But the question is,

Once the lockdown will be over, will we continue watching the DD National? DD National is not the point. The question is, do we like the old Indian serials, the real Indian content, just because there are no choices with us or really do we.

If really do we, then why not in routine days?

From the makers, nobody is watching and from the viewers, nobody is making. It’s a lock why we do not find much Indian content. Let this lockdown breaks this lock. Let's appreciate, promote, encourage and enjoy our very own real Indian content.

Let’s together, we kill the Corona and all the slaps, all the snacks from the TV, all the guns, all the drugs from the web.

Only we, the viewers can change things.
