( It's an underprivileged girl's mournful letter to her life)

Dear Life,

You are not my buddy that I'll commence my heartfelt letter by interrogating about your health and all. On the contrary, you should care for me in the same way I do for you. Everyone's life curves an arc of smile on their face. But, why do you keep me at bay from such merriness? Am I not important to you? Don't you understand you will bear a meaning if I am something? I heard someone saying that "Life is what you make it" but why you are not the way I want you to be? I'm one silent body, hardly with emotions and anything like that. I walk with peaceful steps but my presence makes everyone frown. I'm not the culprit but I feel so because I'm underprivileged. When you came to me, why you came empty-handed? You could have halted if you had nothing. Why you came to me?

I see all staying preserved in their abodes and then I see myself staying in a dilapidated uninhabited hut. I see all decked up in costly attires and then I see myself with tattered cloth donated by them. I see all savouring tasty meals and then I see myself with not even a handful of rice. Why? Did I commit a sin in my last birth? If not, then why you came to me unprepared?

I was loitering in the dark so that no one could identify me but my hanging shawl and uncanny tranquillity made them stay away from me. I was walking towards the nearby cemetery but something pulled me behind. You didn't pull me but my wish to make you, my life, valuable, I pulled Myself.

Yours lovingly

Aspiring soul
