Escape From Happiness

"I...I need you. I am breaking down. Please come back! "

"Not happening."

"You promised to be there for me."

"I still am. What has happened?"

"Everything is falling apart. I failed in the entrance exam. Mom keeps arguing. I feel a void as if something is stuck in my throat."

"I had felt the same last year. Get busy. Become cold to your emotions."

"But..." And again, her words remain unheard.

She didn't contact him again. She knew it had ended.

6 am classes, part-time jobs, household chores, completing one target after another, she did everything to stay away from his memories.

He had told her to stay busy. She slogged so much that every ounce of her body craved sleep.

But even when respite was ready to comfort her, he still haunted her.

Truth is time heals everything. But it keeps scratching your wounds till the point you become numb to those pinches.

He was still trespassing her dreams at night. The fleeting time would run anti-clockwise and there she lay in a pool of sorrows escaping from happiness.
