F - R - I - E - N - D - S

An 8-year-old boy sat in one corner of his school ground. He lost his favourite Hotwheels set and was afraid how to tell his parents. He was accompanied by his best friend and he gave his set to him. In another instance, A middle-aged man who incurred losses in his business and left with nothing was worried about his future and family. Again, it is his friend who sat beside him and is trying to soothe him from his pain and supporting him in his difficult times. An old man sat on a bench in a park with a pale and dull face. He was unhappy with the way his loving children treated him at this age. He was not getting proper attention amid their children's busy life. He was saying all this to his friend who sat beside him. Starting from a small boy to an old man, the age of the person varies but it is their friend who sat with them and shared all their feelings. Friendship doesn't have age, religion, caste. It is one of the purest relations which we maintain.

Every one of us has a friend at each stage of our life. From sharing lunch box in school to sharing every feeling in our life, we have friends. What is the meaning of a FRIEND? To this question, there will be plenty of answers. Each person has his or her own opinion on friendship. In general, if two or more persons are friends, then their relationship can be defined mathematically in seven phases as FRIENDS- Formula, Remainder, Integration, Expressions, Numbers, Divisions, Solutions. I feel every one of us will go through these phases if we have friends. Let's read a small story of four persons on how they became friends and how they have experienced those phases being friends.

Adhit sat in the exam hall and he was given a question paper and a duration of 2 hours to complete it. He looked at the questions and all seemed to be Greek and Latin. He folded the paper and thought that his 15th attempt to get a job also goes in vain. He wants to leave the exam hall, but he was not allowed to do so until half an hour. As usual, he went into imagining how his future would be if he was an actor. He loves acting and it is his passion. He is not interested to do a job but was forced to attend the exams and interviews. Half an hour completed and he was the first person to give the paper and come out of the exam hall. While coming out, he was thinking that 2 hours is not enough for a person who really prepares for the job and he would be the only one coming out. But to his surprise, he could see 3 other persons coming from other rooms. On seeing them he was curious to know what reasons have made them come out so early. He went to them and started a conversation with all the three. They completed the remaining duration of the exam with their conversation and the discussion ended with the exchange of phone numbers.

Since then Adhit has been in contact with Deeran, Vivin and Praval. Gradually their friendship grew strong. It might be their ambitions that matched or it might be their thoughts but they became good friends. Adhit knew that Deeran wants to become a director and Vivin, Praval also interested in starting some business of their own. One day he expressed his idea of creating a YouTube channel and use that as an entertainment platform. Others liked his idea and they all decided to work dedicatedly for this. It is not that easy to create a channel and publish videos. It required a lot of background effort. They took a separate room where they planned to stay and work. They left their home and family for this. They faced many problems in the beginning but after many hectic days and sleepless nights they released the first episode of the web series. The episode was a total failure as there were minimal response and views. They thought viewers would increase in the coming episodes but the result was not as expected and disappointing.

Episode 4 is a game-changer for them. They have almost lost all hopes in the series but this episode changed everything. It gained a lot of followers to the channel. From that point onwards, they didn't look back. The channel was a huge hit. They got huge craze and subscribers started waiting eagerly for new content. All the 4 friends are very much satisfied and happy with what they are doing. During the weeks they work for the channel and weekends they chill out and enjoy.

 

Life is not a cakewalk and as such friendship. Adhit got an offer in movies. He doesn't want to turn down the offer as it was his dream to become an actor and also he cannot leave the channel and his friends so he decided to act here as well. But gradually, he started ignoring the channel and gave more importance to the movies. Deeran, Praval and Vivin felt upset with the change in behaviour of Adhit. This led to many differences with Adhit and eventually, he came out of the channel and their lives. Adhit became a famous actor. He has everything that he wanted in his life, but he has a pang of guilt that he left his friends in the middle and came out. That small mistake made by him costs his friendship.

In the above story, the exam is the formula and those 4 friends are remainders. Now those friends have integrated and developed a bond between them. After knowing their likes and dislikes Adhit has expressed his idea of YouTube channel. This expression made them work together and during this time, they faced a number of problems and solved them to reach close to their dream but, one out of those number of problems lead to their division. There might be some misunderstandings between friends. Everyone is not alike in all the aspects and there will be some differences but those differences should not be the reasons to break a friendship. It is rather easy to break anything than to make. Every problem has a solution. In friendship, the solution is an important phase. If Adhit had sat with other friends and tried to find a solution, then he wouldn't feel the guilt of leaving his friends in the middle of his Journey. Friendship is one of the purest relations. It is all about how we maintain the relation by solving the problems. Think twice before making any decision. Especially in friendship.
