The day on which this tragic and unfortunate accident occurred has a melancholy, airy start. There was like an atmosphere of sadness around my brother and I as we woke up in our cosy, cluttered room. We did not even receive any slight indications that any paranormal activities would happen to us when we would venture through the abandoned house at the end of the town near the age-old tombstones that littered the ground nearby in the middle of the night.

So, anyways my brother and I decided to brush off the melancholy and sadness emitting from the atmosphere and decided to make most of our day packing and making ghost detectors as well as all the usual ghost detecting instruments used.

By the time that we finished thoroughly checking and packing everything right down from the walkie talkies to the flashlights, we noticed that the sun was high in orbit.

By this time, we decided that we would not spend a single second more in the checking and packing of the ghost detecting instruments. We would instead go and read articles on “When is the best time to look for ghosts in the night?”,“What should be done when a ghost attacks the person/people that are exploring the abandoned house where it is rumoured that the ghost(s) stay there?”, and etc…

After going through most of all the articles written on ghost detecting on the nation’s leading paranormal website, the sky was ablazing with the fire originating from the setting sun which meant we had only a few hours at most before the exploration of the abandoned house at the end of the town’s boundaries. We wanted to cherish the last few hours of this day if something happened to us in the abandoned house. However, before this could happen one important thing had to occur and that was we had to make a will stating that what would happen to this house and all of our possessions if anything serious happened to us while exploring the mysterious, broken-down house.

So, there we were, arguing who would receive our possessions when we heard a knock on the back and the front door simultaneously. This creeped us out of our skin as we wondered if anything paranormal would happen to us before the exploration, but then we remembered that ghosts never come to one’s house and attacks. With this thought in mind, we became less scared and decided if we should go and see what caused the commotion. What we saw was enough for us to jump under our beds and cower and shake with fright. We saw handprints leading from the ground up till the roof of our bungalow. Then, with the snap of the fingers, a letter fluttered down and touched the soft, warm soil outside. Written on it was, “We will be waiting for you. However, be aware of the screens in the house”.And then on the back of the note, was a reddish, warm liquid that looked quite identical to blood.

Then our house exploded and we died.
