Hang In There 'Sole'!

A broken sandal has almost become one of my regular features! And I think,  I'm the only one with the broken sandal syndrome in my entire family!

The most embarrassing incident which I recall is when I was attending a relative's silver anniversary celebrations. I own a pair of golden sandals, which look pretty underneath silk saree, but I hadn't worn them since months.

So I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use them. I slipped on my golden sandals and wore a beautiful orange saree and put on makeup and jewelry and headed to the function.

As the photo session with the anniversary couple was done, we youngsters took charge of the DJ floor. The DJ was playing old punjabi numbers, which I always relished.

I got high in dancing spirits and started dancing with full energy. After a while when I decided to take a break, I stepped down from the dance floor only to find the sole of my sandal left behind on the dance floor!

I looked here and there and quickly picked up the sole and put in my purse. Now we headed for dinner. After filling my plate full, I searched for a table to sit, and my husband found one for us.

As I sat down, I decided to cross my legs for comfort, only to find the sole of my other foot's sandal hanging! I quickly grabbed the sole and put that one also in my purse. Atleast now my both feet were at the same level!

After a delightful evening, we returned home and then I showed my husband what had happened with my sandals! He already knew my previous encounters with broken slippers and has hence forth decided that my birthday gift each year shall be sandals!
