The Men I Love!

The Men I Love!

As I open my eyes in the morning and move towards the kitchen, I find the cloth bag used to bring milk lying on the floor. I bend to pick it up, murmuring, "Why can't things be kept away from the floor when everybody knows the Bai is about to come?"

I call my mom after finishing my morning chores, and she starts the call by complaining about my father's and brother's lazy habits. The poor umbrella stand has now been converted into a t-shirt stand. The wet towel is always on the bedside, and long hours in the restroom are everyday stories.

I, on the other hand, responded by complaining how once again my hubby hadn't told me that some relative was in town, visiting us in the evening, and my house looked like a teenager's hostel room! He had also not closed the sugar box's cap properly, and ants had attacked it!

Later in the evening, as I reached home, piping hot chana aloo sabzi was ready for me. My husband had reached home early today, and the dough was also ready for pooris. I quickly changed and started rolling pooris (the poor guy is not able to make rotis and pooris), and we sat down for a yummy dinner.

After dinner, I called my mom and found out that Papa had brought her favorite ice cream after my brother helped her make rotis and was now fixing her laptop. As I retired for the day and lay down next to my husband, the warmth of his hug soothed me and made me forget about the tiring day at the office. So, men will be men, but these are the men we love!
