The Forgotten Self

"Vrinda! " Suresh called upon his wife from the bedroom, " have you seen my wallet? "

"It's on the Television cabinet" Vrinda replied, packing the lunch boxes. She quickly placed the boxes in the kids bags and in Suresh's bag. A little while later, after the three had left for their respective destinations, she brought tea for her mother-in-law and her niece, who was visiting them and sat down.

"Vrinda bhabhi, how do you do it all? " Shriya, asked, " I mean you manage the household so well, kids, Bhaiya, Chachiji everyone, yet you don't look exhausted or angry"

Vrinda smiled, her mother-in-law said, "we are fortunate to have Vrinda as our daughter-in-law. So well behaved, sanskari and such good natured! "

"Is it my b'day today? " Vrinda laughed, " that everyone is singing my praises? " and all three of them laughed. Shriya said, " but Bhabhi I hope you didn't forget our shopping spree today? " Vrinda nodded, I'll just get Maa's lunch ready and we'll leave"

Vrinda and Shriya returned home with Shriya's friend Vaani. "Oh what a day! " Vaani said, " exhausting but fun" Shriya chuckled and Vrinda nodded in agreement. "Come let's try out those dresses" Vaani pulled Shriya and they went to Shriya's room.

Vrinda closed the main door, as her mother-in-law had gone for to the park, and proceeded to the kitchen to make tea. As she entered Shriya's room with the tray in her hand, she was flabbergasted to see Shriya and Vaani making out.

"Bhabhi.... " Shriya tried to explain the situation to Vrinda, while Vrinda kept her head down and placed the tea cups on the side table and moved out quietly. That night Vrinda couldn't sleep, she kept fantasizing herself in Shriya's place and making out with Vaani. She couldn't understand why she was fantasizing them, while she never imagined herself with any male ever in this manner. Was she not straight? She hadn't been with anyone else ever except Suresh.

Shriya and Vrinda didn't speak about the topic ever after that day. One day, Vaani came to her house and Vrinda couldn't control herself from fantasizing again. She got up and went to her room, when Vaani came, and they kissed.

Vrinda pulled herself back, she was married! Vaani put her hand over Vrinda's face, "it's okay" and they made out. Vaani left after a while but Vrinda felt ashamed, "was this cheating? who am I really? " several questions sprang in her mind. She couldn't sleep again the whole night.

Next morning, Vrinda decided to bury those suddenly erupted feelings and go back to being the faithful wife she was. Whoever she was, it was too late to explore and it was not fair to Suresh.
