Journey Towards Happiness

The biggest curse bestowed upon mankind is the thirst to acquire more and more. Our wants are never-ending, whether it is wealth, love, or respect. We want everyone to please us, but we are never willing to put in our own efforts.

It is true that the desire to acquire more and more is a common human experience, and it can be difficult to resist the allure of material wealth, social status, and other forms of success. However, it is also important to recognize that this desire can often lead to unfulfillment and dissatisfaction, as people may feel that they can never have enough of what they want.

Moreover, the idea that we want everyone to please us and are unwilling to put in our own efforts can be seen as a manifestation of our own insecurities and lack of self-esteem. It can lead to a sense of entitlement and a lack of empathy towards others, as we may expect others to cater to our needs without recognizing their own desires and limitations.

However, it is also important to acknowledge that this desire for constant gratification is not a natural or inherent aspect of human nature. Rather, it is a learned behavior that is often reinforced by our cultural norms and social conditioning. Therefore, it is possible to cultivate alternative values and behaviors that promote greater fulfillment and well-being, such as gratitude, mindfulness, and self-reflection.

Ultimately, the challenge of managing our desires and expectations lies in developing a sense of balance and perspective, as well as cultivating the skills and qualities that promote greater resilience and adaptability in the face of life's challenges.

The day I realized this fact, I learned to move on and started contributing unconditionally to society without expecting anything in return for my efforts. Now, my aim for living life has changed from fame to self-love and happiness.

Expectations lead to suffering, so it's better to expect the least from others and bring out the best in ourselves.
