[Love Hits Hard ] Ch2- The Gentlemen's Club

We entered the school through a huge red-colored main gate.

"OMG, this school is so big!! It's gonna be fun."

Fun!? It's like punishment for me. Wherever I can see all the new faces. But thank god no one noticed us.

"I think we have to wait here for assembly," Daphne whispered to me.

"You are right. We are waiting here for assembly," a girl standing next to us answered Daphne's unasked question.

"Hello," we both greeted her.

"Hi, myself Ariana, but call me Ari."

"Hi Ari, myself Daphne, and she is my best friend Emily. Are you studying here since your 1st grade?"

"Yes, well, I have never seen you both before. That means you are new here."

"Yup, that's true, and we are very excited. Ain't we, Emily?"

I agreed with a fake smile.

"No worries as now we are friends, I will tell you about everyone and everything."

"Thanks. See, I told you it's not that hard to make friends," Daphne whispered to me. Suddenly, everyone started whispering, and each face moved in one direction. All the girls started giggling. There was a lot of rush, so I stood up on my toes and saw a face, a handsome face. Everyone started to move aside to give them space. There was a group with him, but I wasn't able to see each one of them. We quietly saw them walking away from the crowd. And the bell rang for the assembly line. I wasn't able to find that guy in the whole assembly. After the assembly was over, we went to our respective classes. Our class was on the second floor. It was a huge room. We sat on the last third bench. Just three of us. The first lecture was in English, our sir was just reading out the lines from the book itself. It was very boring. Daphne and Ari started talking.

"So, aren't you guys eager to know about those students for whom everyone made a way?"

"Ooo yes, who were they?"

Since I was getting bored in class, I joined their conversation.

"I was able to see a guy. He was handsome, tall, and really good-looking like a gentleman."

"According to your description, you might have seen Alan."

"Alan? Who is he?"

Daphne was interested a lot in this topic, and somehow I found myself getting interested too.

"Alan Jones, he is not so talkative, intelligent, innovative, smart, and one of the most popular guys in our school. I have known him since my first grade," Ari told us about him with a shy smile and a lot of natural blush.

"And who were the other students with him?"

"It's a group of some of the most popular students in our school. Besides Alan, there is another guy equally famous, particularly among girls."

We were in the middle of our conversation when the bell rang, and the other teacher entered the class. Just after two seconds of the teacher's entrance, a group entered the class, and everyone in the class started to style themselves up because that group had both handsome boys and pretty girls. I recognized that boy, Alan.

"Isn't he Alan about whom you were telling us?"

"Yes, he is. Isn't he so handsome!" Ari said again with a blush.

"Who are the others?"

"Well, the boy sitting with Alan, that black hair and blue eyes one, is Noah Maxton."

We looked at him, and accidentally, he saw me staring at him. I looked away in embarrassment. But I wasn't the only one in class who was staring at him. Well, Ari noticed me getting embarrassed.

"Don't be embarrassed, Emily. I know he is someone who just steals your heart away from you."

Well, that was true. I kind of felt like losing my heartbeat for a while.

"I want something interesting to happen, and I want Noah to do that," Daphne whispered to me.

"If you both are planning to propose Noah, then forget it. This ain't gonna happen."

"Why!!!" words automatically slipped from my mouth.

"Well, Noah is a cute, handsome, smart boy but at the same time, he is a heartbreaker. He is arrogant according to some foolish girls who tried to propose to him, knowing that he already has a girlfriend."

"What a girlfriend!!?" Again, words slipped out of my mouth.

Daphne was looking a little bit shocked by my sudden interest.

"Well, I was coming to that point only. Noah has a girlfriend. Her name is Cindy Brown. Cindy is a pretty and famous girl. She is good at gymnastics and is also the head of the cheerleading group. There she is, sitting right in front of Noah."

Ari was right; Cindy was pretty, and somehow I was jealous about that. And class ended. Till lunch break, we didn't get time to talk as we all were busy taking notes on the history of world wars. During lunch break, we sat at a table from where I was able to see that group easily. And once again, he saw me staring at him. Again, I looked away in embarrassment. When school ended

, we headed out together with some of Ari's friends talking about the first day of school when I accidentally bumped into Noah and dropped my books. I started collecting them, but he didn't even try to help me or say sorry; he just went away with his friends as if nothing happened. He was arrogant, as Ari said. But somehow, I still fell for him. On the way back home, we didn't talk to each other. It was clear we both were thinking about him. When I reached home, my mother started asking questions about my first day.

"How was your school?"

"I don't know."

"Huh?"

I really didn't know how was my day in school. At night after dinner, I talked with Daphne about our first day and also about them. She said that we have to give them a codeword so that we can talk about them in public without getting caught by anyone. We had a lot of names in our mind like 'Heart Stealers' or 'Embarrassment Makers,' but at last, we named them 'The Gentlemen's Club.' After all, they were some good-looking gentlemen, except Noah.
